Robert Walp began his bookmaking career in the Spring of 2000 at
Vermont College in Montpelier, Vermont. He has participated in
numerous book arts workshops since then and in 2006 earned an MFA in
the Book Arts from The University of Alabama, where he received the
Raymond F. McClain Book Arts Award in April 2006. His work can be
found in many collections including The University of Vermont Bailey
Library, Dartmouth College Rauner Library, Brown University
Rockefeller Library in Providence, Rhode Island, The Library of
Congress, The New York Public Library, and The Shelburne Museum in
Shelburne, Vermont. Robert works from his studio in the Adirondacks
under the imprint of Chester Creek Press and teaches workshops at
several art centers in New York. The Adirondack Lakes Center for the
Arts in Blue Mountain Lake, Bluseed Studio in Saranac Lake, the Town
of Chester Public Library, and the Lake George Arts Project among
them. He is a member of The Guild of Bookworkers and is curator of the
Book Arts Collection at the Town of Chester Public Library.
