Book and Paper Conservator in Private Practice and GBW NY Chapter Co-Chair I began binding in 1994 in London during an apprenticeship with Gavin Rookledge, and began, after a hiatus, my career in Conservation in 1999. It began with an internship at the New York Academy of Medicine, then went to the New York Botanical Garden and finally to Union Theological Seminary in New York City from 2001 until 2008. I just recently began in private practice, so we'll see how it goes. Conservation will be it's focus, but I also hope to be doing more binding in my practice; I like bindings to have durable and interesting tactile qualities and will develop my style based on that.
